Fishing for Dough. Fishing for a Cause.
For years, we've brought kayak anglers together right here in Ozello for a little friendly competition and a whole lot of Christmas spirit! Ho Ho Ho Fishing for Dough is our annual kayak fishing tournament hosted by Ozello Keys Marina, where anglers compete for cash prizes, bragging rights, and, most importantly, a chance to give back to children in our own community.
What started as a way to combine our love of fishing with the spirit of giving has become a holiday tradition we're proud to keep going.
So, How Does It Work?
Ho Ho Ho Fishing for Dough is a catch-photo-release (CPR) style kayak fishing tournament with redfish as the target species. Anglers hit the water, put their skills to the test, and submit their catches through the Fishing Chaos tournament platform. No hauling fish back to the scales! Just you, your kayak, and a little friendly competition. Whether you're a seasoned tournament angler or you've been thinking about entering your very first one, we'd love to have you join us.
And you don't have to be fishing to get involved! Between the raffles, prizes, and support from local businesses, there are plenty of ways for the whole community to be part of the fun.
The Reason Behind It All
Sure, there's money on the line. But the real reason we do this is the kids.
Through this tournament and the generosity of our anglers, sponsors, and community, we're able to help provide Christmas gifts for local children right here in Citrus County.
Every year, we're reminded just how much good can come from a bunch of people who love to fish.
It's something we're incredibly proud to be part of, and we couldn't do it without the folks who continue to show up and support it year after year.
